Organic food waste produced in kitchens is transferred immediately into WasteStar's integrated or stand alone feeding stations. It is not necessary to store food waste temporarily in separate food containers, consequently reducing staff time and effort, as well as promoting a more uncluttered, hygienic environment. The modular structure of the system allows for feeding stations to be sited in the most useful positions within a foodservice operation, i.e. within food preparation areas, dish and pot washing rooms, etc., or indeed anywhere that food waste is generated and needs to be disposed off. Food waste is transported from the feeding stations by vacuum, which is generated by compressed air. This compressed air facility offers two functions - removing waste from feeding stations to the collection tank, and then finally, transporting the waste from the storage tank to the tankers, for removal off site. Disposal channels for organic kitchen waste include: biogas production plants; composting facilities; anaerobic digestion facilities, etc..
